The newest Star trek movie to hit theaters in the longest time it seems. Has just come out so all the Trekkies are going to come out of the woodwork on this one. Gene Roddenberry's world had been taken into a different direction. The setting has been set in the past with all the original characters just graduating out of the Star Fleet Academy. There has been an emergency action called by Star Fleet and the newly made ensigns are on a mission heading put to space with Captain Pike leading the way. You get to see the new interaction and rewrites of the Star Trek universe as Roddenberry wrote. Between Kirk, Spock and Uhura especially as a romantic interest in the film. I really do not want to give too much away on this film , but to inform all people who love Star Trek to go see it, and if you don't like the original Star Trek go see it. It is highly packed with action and suspense that will keep you interested through out the film. Star Trek has taken a new turn ladies and gentlemen, and it is not completely for the worst I would say. We are going to lucky enough now, to see some new Sci-Fi film coming to the screen that are actually going to be worth watching. Yes they have changed the storyline a bit, for any die hard fans out there, but I would rather watch anything Star Trek then watch none at all. It is the start of a new series that will be hitting the screen for quite sometime with all the actors already signing a multi-picture deal for another three installments. go see this film in the theater and do not wait to see it when it comes out on DVD. You will miss out on most of the amazing special affects and animation that only can be appreciated on a big screen. Live long and prosper.
