Quotes:

What happens when the numbers run out?
Why? Because people see what they want to see.

A young girl named Lucinda Embry "Lara Robinson", is in grade school during the 1950's, she is haunted by the constant sound of whispers in her head. When one day her teacher mentions the new class project. She has bough a time capsule, her plan is for every child in the class to draw a picture of what they believe the future will be like and place it inside. The capsule will be buried in front of the school and opened in 50 years for future students to see. All the students draw pictures of futuristic scenes, spaceships, rockets and even robots. Not Lucinda Embry, still haunted by voices now more then ever. The teacher approaches her to see what young Lucinda has drawn. Yet is just a completely full piece of paper of numbers written frantically line by line. Disgusted by what Lucinda has done, she grabs the paper before she is able to finish the last couple of numbers on the bottom of the page.

In the future 2009, it comes time to open the time capsule and the students of the school are ready to see what time left behind. A student at the school Caleb Koestler is the lucky one that receives Lucinda's letter. Totally confused about what he has been given he takes it home wondering what it could mean. His father John Koestler "Nicolas Cage", finds the letter and thinks its utter nonsense at first. One night when John cannot seem to fall asleep starts to notice something strange about the letter. He notices a mathematical pattern that is absolutely amazing, it is a record of every disaster that has happed since 1950. It is a recording of the date and the number of people to die in each accident. Only three dates remain on the list and its up to John if he wants to try to prevent these disasters from happening, if he can.

Knowing is an interesting science fiction feature , it has plenty of suspense, intrigue and good plot. Predicting the future is something everyone would like to do at one time or another. In this film that take it too a new level, bringing horrible tragedies that could be prevented all at the hands of one man. Bring about one of the most interesting questions is everything that happens predestined or just completely random in this universe. Its hard to say, I like to think this whole universe is the biggest coindence ever to happen, but in my gut I know this is almost completely impossible. Hard for anyone to fathom the reason on why things happen the way they do . The film actually has a strange ending that I thought was not needed at all and probably should have been cut out all together. Although, its hard to say what audiences will think of it. I wish I could talk about it more, but it will spoil the film. If you like science fiction give this movie a go, and enjoy a good time with plenty of special effects. I do not think it will be too popular with audiences, but it would not be the first time I have been wrong.
