Kill off all my demons, Roy, and my angels might die, too.

Transsiberian is movie set on the Transsiberian railroad. A couple, go on a trip on the Transsiberian Railroad, from one end to the other . The couple are Roy, "Woody Harrelson", and Jessie, "Emily Mortimer", and their relationship is a little sketchy right now. The railroad starts in China, and goes all the way through Asia to end up in its final destination of Moscow. While traveling on the train, they try to make a point of seeing all the sites that the old railroad has to offer along their trip. While traveling on the train, a couple other passengers join them to share their compartment with them for the trip . These two people are also American, they fit right in, and they become friends quickly with Roy and Jessie. Carlos "Eduardo Noriega", and Abby "Kate Mara", are the couple that joins them. They tell Roy and Jessie, that they travel throughout the world giving language classes. Also making a bit of extra money selling handmade crafts they pickup along the way, Russian Matryoshka dolls, to be exact.

At one of the train stops, both couples get off the train to do some exploring. Although when the train goes to take off, Roy never makes it back on board before it leaves. At the next stop, Jessie decides to get off the train, and wait for Roy to meet back up with her. Abby and Carlos decide to wait with her for Roy, so she is not alone. As long as are waiting, Jessie and Roy decide to go sight seeing. They go off the beaten path to take some photos of an old church outside of town. While out in the middle of nowhere Carlos tries to take advantage of Jessie . She wants nothing to do with it, and in the process of escaping, accidentally kills him. She leaves Carlos lying dead in the snow at the old church. She runs back to town in a panic, and that is not the only trouble she is in. She discovers in Carlos suitcase, that he is actually transporting drugs with him, and the cops are searching for him as well. She hides the drugs, and in the meantime waits for Roy to help her decide what to do next.

Transsiberian has some amazing photography, a picturesque filming of the Russian countryside. Actually it is a thriller, with a bit of a love story thrown in for good measure. The casting is a bit different for this film. Woody Harrelson plays a role of a guy that is not totally self confident for a change, well at least for most of the film . Not his best performance I would say, but maybe its just the role. Ben Kingsley plays a Russian cop that is chasing them down and plays it perfectly .A semi-insane cop that has no limits to what he will do. Its hard to tell how these two are going to make it out of this mess. The interaction between Emily Mortimer, and Kate Mara is probably the most believable thing about this movie. How they share their deep dark secrets with each other and try to get to know each other better. A bit of drugs, mystery, and a psycho cop make for quite a good thriller. That picks up the speed big time at the end of the film quite abruptly. A film that most people missed and worth renting. Just the photography of the landscapes from the train, is worth it alone .
