Quotes:

She likes to play games.
Be careful what you wish for.
My name is Coraline, not Caroline!
There is one tiny little thing we need to do.

Coraline is young curious girl, "Dakota Fanning", that has just moved with her mother and father to a new house. Her parents are extremely busy with their work on a new book, and it is taking up all their time. Her father "John Hodgman", suggests that Coraline go explorer their new home. Also, to make a list of all the things in their home, from doors, to windows, and paintings on the walls. To make herself more familiar with where she lives. Thus, buying the needed time and quiet, her father needs to type for his book. While exploring the house and making a long obscure list of things in the home, she comes upon the outline of a door that has been covered over with wallpaper. She goes to find her mother and begs her to help her open the door. Coraline's mother "Teri Hatcher" goes searching through a drawer of keys to find the one key that matches. Her mother opens the door only to find out that it has been bricked off completely. This only adds more to curiosity of Coraline's imagination. What lies behind the blocked door? Her mother goes to lock the door, but by mistake still leaves it unlocked.

One day out of boredom and curiosity, Coraline opens the door and realizes that the door is no longer blocked off. Only to find out that it leads down a long, dark, winding tunnel. Coraline has no idea where it leads, and decides to explore her new discovery. She crawls down the tunnel, only to find another room at the end of it. Just like her own room but, something seems different. It is just like her own house, only more cheerful and completely magical. Plus her parents are there as well. Yet, they are happy to have her around and glad to see her. Her new found magical parents cater to all of Coraline's needs and wants. Providing her with all the attention she longed for from parents on the other side. Complete opposites of her real parents, except for one strange thing. They both have buttons for eyes. A day of complete fun goes by, and her "Other" parents put her to sleep. While laying down in bed, being tucked in by her other mother, she asks Coraline if she would like to stay. Weary and overwhelmed about all that went on, Coraline decides to think about it, and falls asleep.

The next morning, she wakes up in her own bedroom at her real house. Absolutely excited about what happened, telling her parents every detail. Her parents insist that it was only dream. Only Coraline knows it is true, and cannot wait to take a trip back to the other side.

Coraline filmed in 3-D, a absolute scintillating wonder of imaginative animation for the eyes. Created for the screen by Henry Selick for all to enjoy. You will be brought into the magical world of Coraline and, will be totally enthralled with it as much as her. Henry Selick has directed other great works, such as The Nightmare Before Christmas and James and the Giant Peach. He spares nothing with helping make Coraline come alive, in his latest animated feature. I highly recommend this movie and think everyone will enjoy it adults and kids alike. A cinematic beauty of animation that is sure to become a classic.
