In the movie "The Wrestler" directed by Darren Aronofsky shows the life a has been wrestler who wishes that his life could have been different. Randy Robinson "the Ram" played Mickey Rourke is a beat up old wrestler that met his fame in the past. He had stardom quite a while ago . He even had an action figure and was starred in a video game. Although this is all he has really known his entire life, wrestling. Still trying to make ends meet, while working a second job and wrestling no name wrestlers. He has a horrible accident, a heart attack, and realizes that maybe his body cannot take the physical punishment that it used to after 25 years. He has a big match coming up against his long arch rival "The Ayatollah" and this might be the setback of his entire career of wrestling. He has a hard time coming to grips with the end of his career, at the forefront, with his only passion that might be taken away from him.

After having this accident he tries to seek out his only daughter Stefanie played by "Evan Rachel Wood" to make amends after years of being away from her. He has a hard time trying to make this happen and looks to his only friend Cassidy "Marisa Tomei" to help him get closer to his daughter. Marisa Tomei plays an older stripper in a strip club that he frequents quite often and "The Ram" is one of her regular customers. The sad thing is this is one of the only people that he knows in his life, that he feels close too. Accept for maybe for the local kids that live in his rundown trailer park.

Mickey Rourke does a fantastic job making this character so believable. By showing the fact that this man "The Ram" sacrificed almost everything he had to live out his dream of Wrestling. Even after the match he tries to settle differences with daughter after the years, in the fear of dying after his heart attack. He tries to make emotional connections with his daughter and Marisa Tomei before it is too late for him to do so. But, he realizes that he has lived his life one way and one way only and it was for himself and his career. Nothing was going to change him from doing what he loved or, how he lived his life. Even with his health on the line. A dramatic performance that will leave you loving the "The Ram" when you leave the theater.
